Sree Bhuvaneswary Temple, Valamchuzhy
Sree Bhuvaneswary temple one of the oldest temples in Pathanamthitta.It is believed to have been built over 2000 years ago.Due to the constant fury of the river over the past the temple was severely damaged by the floods in 1096 AD. years large tracts belonging to the temple have been washed away. The temple presently is well protected from the ravages of floods. The temple is situated at a distance of 3 km from the city centre. The Anchankovil river surrounds the temple on three sides and thats how the place got its name.
