Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple

One of the two rival groups (the other being Paramekkavu Temple) that participate in the Thrissur Pooram, the Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple is one of the most popular ones in Kerala. The constant chanting of the Bhagvad Gita lends an even more spiritual feel to the temple. Free lunch is served every day to devotees and the dress code is strict. The presiding deity of the temple is the infant Krishna (also known as Unnikrishna) though the goddess Bhagwati is also worshiped with great fervor. A temple dedicated to Ganesha is located just behind the main temple.
