Muringamangalam Sreemahadevar Temple

The Muringamangalam Sreemahadevar Temple, located a 1/2 km from Konni Junction. The temple is more than 1000 years old and used to belong to the Pandalam Royal Family. It is the biggest Siva temple in Pathanamthitta District. The temple is situated on the shores of the Achakovil river. The main deity is Lord Shiva, facing east. There is also a small temple for Lord Krishna. The temple is a recent addition as his devine presence was found in Devaprashnam due to continuous Bhagavatha Sapthaham.

During the Sabarimala Mandala-kalam the sacred Thanka Anki procession (The sacred golden attire weighing 453 sovereigns to be adorned on Lord Ayyappa idol) to Sabarimala stays overnight at the Muringamangalam temple. The procession is set off from Aranmula Parthasarathy temple and is taken to the hill shrine during the Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season.
