Anandapuram Sree Mahavishnu Temple

Said to be the only temple in India with 12 forms of Lord Vishnu - Keshavan, Narayanan, Madhavan, Govindan, Vishnu, Madhusoodanan, Trivikraman, Vamanan, Sreedharan, Hrishikesan, Padmanabhan and Damodharan.

Legend has it that a Valluvanad king had arrived here for hunting. And that he fell in love with a virgin woman in this region. This temple was built as per desire of the king. And it is believed that the virgin woman later merged into the main Vigraham worshipped in the temple.

In remembrance of this event Inappudava Charthal ritual is held in the temple.

The anual festival is held for 8 days in the Malayalam month of Medom. The other festivals celebrated are Ashtami Rohini, Vishu, Thiruvonam, Mandala Pooja & Navarathiri are also celebrated.
