Chakkamkulangara Sri Sastha Temple

This is one of the 108 temples mentioned in the Thottam pattu. It is widely believed to have been consecrated nearly 2000 years ago. Ayyappa worshipped in the temple is Brahmachari.

The temple is constructed in such a way that, the evening sun rays fall to the face of the idol, so the temple is famous for eye diseases. Devotees come here to cure eye-related problems and to offer gold and silver eyes is the major offering here.

Devotees are known to come for the famed "Theertham" which is applied to their eyes in a belief that it cures eye ailments.
