Mithranandapuram Vamanamoorthy Temple

Vamanmoorthy temples are rare in Kerala as well as in other parts of the country. Mithranandapuram Sree Vamanamoorthy Temple is one of such temples in Kerala. The other one being Thrikkakara Vamamoorthy temple situated in Ernakulam District.

Legend has it that the idol worshipped here is more than 1500 years old. This age is calculated on the basis of the Malayalam recital “Ayathu Sivalokam” depicted in the nearby Arattupuzha temple where the famous Arattupuzha pooram called Deva Mela is celebrated.
