Sree Dhanwanthari Devaswom

Sree Dhanwanthari Temple at Palluruthy, Kochi, is one of the oldest temples in Kerala dedicated to Lord Dhanwanthari, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu as ‘Ayurveda Moorthi’, also known as the Physician of Gods. The temple is situated in Palluruthy Kochi. Lord Dhanwanthari, the Physician of Gods, is worshipped under the name ‘Dhanwanthari Narayana’. The temple has a ‘Rajagopuram’.
The twelve pillars of Nada Pandhal adjacent to the Rajagopuram have ‘Dashavatharams’ (10 Incarnations).

Festivals

Aarattu Festival is the main festival in the temple celebrated in the Malayalam month Medam when Moon is in conjunction with Makam star. Dhanwanthari Jayanthi, the birthday of Lord Dhanwanthari, is celebrated in the Malayalam month Vrishchikam. The other festivals of the temple are; Akhanda Nama Yajna, 24-hour Nama Sankeerthana Yajna, on last Sunday of Malayalam month Karkadakam and 108 Nama Pradakshina Seva on Sree Rama Navami Day.

Samooha Sathya Narayana Pooja on every Pournami Day, Sri Mahalakshmi Pooja on every Friday following the Amavasi day, Dhanwanthari Homam on every 3rd Sunday of English Month, Dhanwanthari Homam – Special.
