Sreenivasakovil Tripunithura
Tripunithura Sreenivasa Kovil is located at Thekkumbhagam – Kannankulangara, Tripunithura in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Narasimha Moorthi an incarnation of Lord Mahavishnu. The temple belongs to Kudumbi community which migrated from Goa.
A powerful Salagrama known as Lakshmi Narayana Salagrama is worshipped in the shrine. This is beautiful Kerala style temple with a chathura (square) sreekovil, namaskara mandapam, shrines of upa devatas, chuttambalam, two ponds and kodimaram.
The annual festival is famous for Vanjiyeduppe – traditional boat is used for the ritual in the temple pond. Unique and traditional Vaishnava pujas and rituals are the main highlight of the festivities. Caparisoned elephant, melam, performing art forms of Kerala and procession are part of the annual festival. The festival culminates with arattu procession.
