Venganellur Mahadevar Temple

Venganellur Siva Kshethram is situated in Venganellur village in Thrissur. The shrine is one among the 108 Shiva temples in Kerala. The temple is also known as Venganallur Thali temple. It is an ancient temple dedicated to Siva in the form of Thiruveembilappan. Earlier the temple was managed by Vembola and Vellinezhi Mana. The temple is currently under the administration of Cochin Dewaswom Board.

The pond (Thalikulam) of this temple is believed to be created by the footstep of Hanuman when he landed here while bringing Mrita sanjeevani to Lakshmanan. The ‘Vela’ of Venganellur Desam starts from here to Anthimahakalan Temple as part of the festival.
