Asramam Sree Krishna Swamy Temple

This is a Lord Sree Krishna Temple is an ancient temple located on the shores of Ashtamudi Lake. Lord Krishna in the form of Navaneet Krishnan or Krishna with Butter in both hands is worshiped here.

The temple sits on the top of a mount created by digging earth from a nearby place, which now forms the temple pond.

Legend has it that the idol was installed by Villumangalam Swamy. It is considered one of the first Unni Kannan (Toddler Krishna) idols of Travancore. The temple was renovated in the year 1996.
Another unique feature is of the temple is that the sub deity Lord Ayyappa is seated on an elephant.

Festivals

Vishu (Kollam Pooram) is a festival held each April. The festival has now assumed the status of a national festival attracting tourists in large numbers. Ashtami Rohini.

Thrikkayyil Venna (butter) is a unique offering to this temple, Tulsi Mala (Garland made of Tulsi Leaves), Kathakali, Pulluvan Pattu (Sing songs for the Naga devatas).
