Kalamassery Mahaganapathy Temple

The late Mr. N Reghunatha Menon, a well-known and devout resident of Kalamassery, built the temple in 1981. For a long time, it was a simple concrete structure that housed the shrines of Ganapathy, Subramanian, and Navagrahas. Despite its modest size, the temple is a popular center of worship for people in and around Kalamassery, and numerous festivals and events are held there throughout the year.

The entire building covers an area of approximately 5,000 square feet (460 m2), and there are no outer walls. In front of the Ganapathy shrine, there is a Peepal tree. The temple complex also includes a ground behind the building. The busy Eloor-Kalamassery road runs just in front of the temple, and the short distance between the temple's front and the road (around 30 feet) has earned the deity the unflattering nickname of 'Road-side Ganapathy'.
