Maha Ganapathy Temple

Maha Ganapathy Temple is located at Thalavady on Vellakinar - Parathode Road in Alappuzha district. The temple is also known as Vellakinar Ganapathy Temple. This is a very small shrine with an east facing square sanctum sanctorum or sreekovil.

Local history has it that this temple belonged to the Chembakassery Kings. The Prathista Murthy was consecrated by Sage Valiyamangalam Swamiyar. The temple is situated on the Southern Banks of a tributery of Pamba River.

The temple is also famous for Vahana puja ritual. This temple is administered by 'Travancore Devaswom Board', through "Changankari Sub-Group".
