Thiruvaloor Mahadeva Temple

The Temple is believed to be one of the 108 Siva temples established by Lord Parasurama in the southwest coast of India. The idol of the temple is peculiar and falls under the category of Agni Tatwa linga (Agni Prathista i.e. with Lord Siva's third eye open.), one of the pancha-tatwa lingas (others being Prithvi, Jala, Vayu and Akasha).

The pond situated in east direction of the temple in line with the Murthy, in sree kovil. It is believed that this is because, the fire (agni) emitting from the idol can be harmful to people. In order to smoothen that effect, the pond is constructed this way.

The temple is currently administered by Travancore Devaswom Board.
