Thykkattu Mahadeva Temple

The Thykkattu Mahadeva Temple is situated in the Vennela Localaity in Ernakulam District. The deity is Lord Siva in Kiratha Murti sankalp. The Murti of Kiratha is Swayamboo (Self Manifested).

This temple, dating back 2000 years, is widely regarded as one of the oldest temples in Kerala. The temple underwent renovation in 1975 and following the re-consecration and 'Sudhikalasa' (purification ceremony), it was decided to celebrate Mahasivarathri every year without any hindrance.
