Thaliyil Mahadeva Temple

Thaliyil Mahadeva Temple is an important place of worship for centuries located at Thazhathangadi in the Kottayam district of Kerala. There is a fort surrounding the temple named as Thalikotta. In the local language, kotta means fort and that is how the temple got its name.

According to folklore, sage Parashurama has installed the idol of Shiva. The temple is a part of the 108 Shiva Temples in Kerala. The temple houses Lord Shiva in his most angry form.
